STAFF & VOLUNTEERS
The Chicago Botanic Garden is collecting, cleaning and banking seeds from 1,500 species by the end of 2009. To accomplish this, we have a full-time coordinator, a manager of conservation programs, numerous contract botanists and a large number of volunteers. While staff and paid botanists make the majority of seed collections, volunteers help us locate target species, clean, count, weigh, and freeze our seed collections, mount and compile label information for herbarium specimens and enter collection data for the project. Without the dedication and help of volunteers, we would never be able to process our seeds!!!
